In the spring of 2021, we connected with a church plant in a small border town south of Yuma called San Luis. Iglesia Jehova Sama is led by Pastor Jesús Chavez who, along with his wife and core team of families, was already doing ministry, gathering for worship and Bible study, and reaching out to the community.

However, they found it challenging to invite new families into their congregation because they had no large meeting space—they were limited to meeting in homes or at Jesús’ auto body shop. Our goal was to raise $25,000 to support Iglesia Sama through the purchase of land and the provision of building costs. The Lord provided over $70,000 to purchase the 10,420 square foot property and build a small auditorium with a kids area and parking lot.
